Thanks for this! My Dad went to Readymade School. He often told stories of his time there, so it was nice to see the place, even is disrepair. My grandfather was the caretaker at the school. They lived on the property.

Hi there. I also attended Readymade School. I am looking for photos of the inside of the school to show my children. I went to school there from about 1963 to 1967? I have photos of the outside of the building. Thank you.

While not not sure about the whereabouts of the other signs or if they were saved, the one with the flags is actually displayed in the new hall. I believe the old gym flooring was also reused in the hall as well as some of the light fixtures.

Hi Jaynee. I’m glad to hear that. There are many of these items that could be reused if the effort is made. Maybe one day I’ll get the chance to visit the new hall.

Nice to see the old school. My dad and my aunts before me, and myself went to school at Readymade. I was probably the most unpopular person there and I do not know why. I thought I was just like everyone else. Good memories, and yet, so sad.

As someone who tore out the old floor and prepared it to go in to the new building I can assure you every usable piece was kept. The photos of the demolition was also mine!
As for keeping the building up it was too costly to make it safe to host functions in and the new building was designed in the same shape as the traditional readymade barns to keep some of the heritiage
